Comments: Dude, excellent page! Never saw a WFL game, I was like 3-4 back then. But being a big football
fan, I can't believe how awesome this page is. All these pics kinda make me laugh, the logos
were for some so ugly but others are just too cool. Thank you for this page!

Anyway, the standings for the 1975 season need to be reformatted, but otherwise, good job!

Comments: Hurrah for making available info on lesser-known sports history. I've allways dug football both for its action and the opportunity its uniforms give graphic designers. I have a Memphis Southmen program from '74, and I will post stuff from it soon. I've written an article on my experience at a CityHawks Arena Football game, liberally illustrated with game photos, that can be seen on my website. I'll be visiting this sit again soon and often!

Thanks for an excellent site with extermely difficult to find information. Great job!

Comments: I remember being in the States in August 75 and buying a copy of Peterson`s Pro Football Guide, which had a few pages on the WFL. My photocopied 1975 schedule bit the dust many years ago and I`ve been frantically hunting everywhere for stuff on the WFL ever since. Today, Jan 23 1999, I feel like I`ve just entered heaven! I look forward to visiting the site many times in the future. With appreciation from an english WFL fan.

Comments: Incredible! I never saw the WFL live (I'm 31 and wasn't watching football yet), but for some reason, I became fascinated with it growing up. I've collected a bunch of WFL-related stuff, and would love if anyone knows how to obtain a poster I used to have that was unfortunately ruined that depicted all the original teams.

Comments: I'm very happy to see continued interest in the WFL. I have
a particular interest in logo/uniform designs of all sorts ;
football, baseball, basketball...maybe hockey. Weird, defunct
leagues and teams are my favorites, as long as their nicknames
end in 'S', (or X if they're SOX teams).
Whatever happened to the Bakersfield Tone Kings?

Comments: I was glad to see someone else enjoys the "weird" football as much as I did. Even though it has been 20+ years since the league folded, it was a welcome change to the humdrum the NFL can sometimes be. Wish we had more "spin-offs" to allow more players the opportunity to acheive success rather than the NFL momopoly (not that I don't like the NFL). I think it would be great to give some "middle-of-the-road" players a league to call their own.

Comments: God bless you for creating this site. I have been a fanatic about the WFL of the 70's since high school. I stumbled on the existence of the league one day in Art class when I was going through old sports magazines for some design project. I found a program of the New York Stars dated August 19, 1974 vs the Portland Storm. Since then I have been through numerous libraries, used book/magazine stores in hopes of finding WFL artifacts. One good fossil I dug up (not literally of course) at Strand books is an out of print copy of "While the getting's good" a biography on the New York Stars/WFL written by Herb Gluck in 1975. There has been rumors that an updated history of the WFL written with the title "Wiffle Ball-the history of the WFL" floating around. If this book does exist I would like to know its whereabouts. It would make excellent reading. Thanks again for this extraordinary website. I am planning to make a web page of my own about the WFL. Just to say that your website is the best.

Comments: WOW...Though not old enough to have actually experienced the WFL, I
personally have developed a keen interested in the NFL and especially the
rival leagues. Truly, it is a fascinating subject. The sad thing is that the
information is hard to find and often sketchy. Thanks for a wonderful page
that thoroughly covers the WFL, one of the more troubled attempts at the
NFL's monopoly of professional football.

Comments: Great site. I am originally from Memphis and had season tickets for 1975 season
and I still have the unused tickets. The Memphis team was very strong
financially and I actually got reimbursed for the final unplayed games! I went to
the Birmingham/Memphis game in Birmingham on Oct. 19 1975, and it turned out
to be the last WFL game ever. It's a shame Memphis never got an NFL franchise,
they really deserved one. Well, I guess I will go dig out some WFL programs now.
